Scorecard Seneca Creek January 4, 2023 Back 9 White Tees +9

With +9 score, I didn't put on much of a show at Seneca Creek today. Fortunately, there were no spectators.

I played the back 9 from the white tees and to the long basket when there was a choice - like on hole 23.

I hit a lot of early trees, but was fortunate to be able to scramble for bogey most of the time. I put up two double-bogeys and only two pars. My putting was pretty good. I was hitting most of my 20 foot putts. I whiffed on a couple, but not bad.

I'm going to play the whites and the blues at Seneca more often now. I'm starting to think less about position shots and my short game, and more how to better navigate longer and more challenging holes.

I hoping to lift my rating again this season. In 2022, I started with a 754 rating. I had a lot of room for improvement and ended 2022 at 807. If I made the same gains in 2023 (53 points), my goal should be to hit 860 by end of 2023.

I'm going to be conservative and go for 850 in 2023. I think I can get there. My drives are going farther than ever and more accurately than ever. My putting has never been this good, with more room to improve. Lately, my upshots have been largely on target. My biggest issue with upshots is that I tend to overshoot because I'm not judging the distance to the basket correctly. I probably need a rangefinder.
