Public Hearing to Amend the Mayor and City Council Salary and Benefits

An "ad hoc compensation review committee"?

GAITHERSBURG – Monday July 19, there's a meeting scheduled about "amending the mayor and city council salary and benefits."

According to the meeting announcement, it doesn't say how the benefits or salaries will be "amended." It's something about amending sections 5 and 16 of the city charter provisions around salary and benefits. I wonder what an "ad hoc compensation review committee" would look like? It seems like there should be more information about this change made available to the public.
